Dr Mirza firmly believes in inviting the patient to talk, and providing the patient all the time they need to express their experiences, thoughts and priorities. Listening is important in medicine (and in life, generally!), but especially in seizures and epilepsy, where the diagnosis and management is largely reliant upon what the patient and their family share with the doctor. Dr Mirza emphasises working in partnership with the patient to achieve the correct diagnosis, and to create a management plan that is tailored to the issues that matter most to the patient.
